The Brief

South Wales based photographer Ryan Welch approached us to create the brand identity and website design for his new photo booth company ‘Instabooth’. Ryan, who is a highly regarded wedding photographer set up Instabooth to complement his existing business so that he could provide a value added service at any weddings he provides photographs for. In addition to weddings, Instabooth is an ideal form of entertainment at any kind of party or corporate event.

Photo booth companies are finding a large amount of demand at present, but there was still a gap in the market for a well branded, professional but quirky-cool company to provide the ultimate entertainment! We were required to provide imaginative, ‘on-trend’ yet memorable branding for the business that would include the visual identity (logo) and online presence (website) that would present Instabooth as THE premier photo booth company in Wales.

The Result

We designed a simple, fun and funky logo that represented the core values of the business. Anyone that uses the booth (whether drunk or not!) tends to use a lot of the props and  accessories that are on offer, such as silly hats, wigs, glasses and moustaches. We decided that these would form the basis of visual identity, so therefore the top-hat and moustache are featured in the logo design with the double ‘oo’ featuring as the larger than life eyes!

The headline font is a custom edited version of ‘Mission Script’ which suits the playful nature of the business. For colours, a palette of light pastel hues were chosen which gives the identity a contemporary appearance.

Once the logo design was finalised, we then created a website that presented each Instabooth event as a blog post. However, we wanted to make the site as visually attractive as possible so therefore used a main slider that presents the latest events rather than a more standard image slider.
