Walnut Tree Farm Park is a family-run working farm that has been established for over 50 years. It’s currently one of Newport’s most popular family attractions, ranked in the top 10 of ‘things to do’ on TripAdvisor. However, when the park owners contacted us, they had no live website and were struggling to provide up to date information to visitors of the park.
The farm park required a new website to be designed and built that would feature plenty of information about the park, such as opening times, animals, location and ticket prices. They also wanted to modernise their process of issuing entrance tickets, so therefore wanted a way of customers being able to purchase tickets online.
We designed a new website using bright and bold colours in keeping with the current brand identity and so that it aligned with the target audience. We incorporated a simple sign up form on the homepage that linked to a mailchimp account that gave a voucher for a free bag of animal food once a person had subscribed. This helps the client build a database of visitors that can then be used for future email marketing campaigns. We also integrated an ecommerce facility into the website that allows customers to purchase tickets online using paypal or a debit/credit card. The benefits for the client in using online ticketing means that it frees up a certain amount of admin time that comes with purchasing physical tickets on entrance. It also means that tickets for special events such as Halloween and Christmas can be sold in advance.
